Does my dog have to be shaved?
Home maintenance and regular grooming are key to keeping a coat clean and free of knots, tangles, and/or mats. Severely matted or pelted coats are painful and will cause damage to the skin. I adhere to a strict “humanity over vanity” policy. I will not de-matt an entire dog. It’s a very painful process that damages the coat. I will always opt to shave, saving what I can. I’m not a shaver groomer unless requested, but I have limits.
Why are larger haircut dogs charged hourly?
Simply, time. they are far more work that takes more time.
Does my dog have to stay on a schedule?
Yes. Dogs that are groomed on a regular basis become comfortable with the process. It becomes part of life, not a punishment. Working with your groomer, can determine what “regular” grooming looks like for your dog.
Are there any breeds you do NOT groom?
YES! I cannot accommodate:
– Any dog OVER 45lbs
German Shepherds, Malinois, Huskies, Chows, Shar Pei’s, or thick coated Retrievers.
